Lantern Parade

In this years parade we take inspiration from around the world such as Songkran Water Festival in Thailand and Nowruz from central Asia and we adapt their traditions of using water and coming together to welcome Spring.
Programme:
6 pm – Gather at Wildside Activity Centre (Please note no parking available on site)
6.30pm – Parade Event Starts
7.30 pm – Camp Fire and BBQ at Gatis
8.15 pm – Reans Got Talent Finale
9 pm – Event Closes
How can you get involved?
The easiest way is to just turn up and take part in the parade – no need to book Bring along any lights or lanterns you may have to add to the mix.
But you can also:
Submit your favourite sing along song for inclusion on the parade playlist
Register to take part in Reans Got Talent 5 mins of fame showcasing your talents
Register as a lantern bearer
Register as a volunteer

FAQ
Q: Is there parking available for this event?
A: No sorry there is no parking available other than street parking near both venues. Should you require disabled access parking please phone both Wildside and Gatis directly to book.
Q: do we have to book and pay for tickets?
A: No this is a free event where you can just turn up, though we encourage you to mark yourself as coming on our facebook event to give us an idea of numbers. We also encourage Pay As You Feel donations to help support the ongoing costs.
Q: How long is the actual parade?
A: The parade event starts at 6.30 and we aim to be at Gatis by 7.30 – the parade route is just under 1 mile.
Q: Will there be refreshments available?
A: Yes there will be drinks and BBQ at low cost available at Gatis
Q: Is this a family friendly event?
A: Yes this event is suitable for all ages and we aim to make the pace of the parade such that little legs can keep up where possible. Please consider bringing smaller children in pushchairs or slings etc.
Q: What should I wear to this event?
A: We recommend sensible footwear and suitable layers for the weather on the day. Beyond that we encourage bright, festival style dress up with lots of lights where you can!
