Five Animal Qi Gong
Every Thursday for 5 weeks from 17th February at 5:30pm
Celebrate Chinese New Year with our fabulous instructor Sue by learning all about Five Animal Qi Gong.
What is Qi Gong?
Qigong is an ancient Chinese meditative practice (similar to tai chi) which uses slow graceful movements to promote the smooth flow of “qi” throughout the body. The Chinese character for “qi” in qigong means air, breath, or life force, “gong” means work, so qigong is the practice of working with your life force.
The system of Five Animal exercises was designed by a leading physician of the Eastern Han Dynasty whose inspiration came from the careful observation and study of the characteristic behaviour of animals.
