Family Nature Challenge

February 20th, 21st, 22nd & 24th
Join Gatis Community Space and Wildside Activity Centre as they join forces to present you with a Family Nature Challenge, ideal for getting out and about into the great outdoors over half term as well as visiting both Gatis and Wildside to complete the challenge.
So come and grab one of our challenge sheets then take a walk in nature. There is even a certificate to collect at the end.
We invite you to find different things and encourage you to take a closer look at the nature around you.
• Stopping to listen to the birds
• Taking deep breaths of fresh air
• Noticing the small signs of spring emerging
• Seeing what animals and birds you can find
Instructions:
This is a drop in family challenge and doesn’t have to be completed on one day, you could space your adventures out across the week or do it all in one go, its entirely up to you!
• Pick up your challenge sheets from Gatis Community Space
• Talk a walk out in nature – you can explore the grounds at both
Gatis Community Space and Wildeside Activity Centre (please
be guided by staff and volunteers) and utilise the many green
spaces available locally
• Take your completed challenge sheet to Wildside Activity
Centre and pick up your certificate
Pick up your challenge sheets at Gatis and drop off your completed sheets at Wildside where you can pick up your certificate. Each centre is open for this activity during the following times:
• Monday 10am to 3pm
• Tuesday 12 noon to 3pm
• Wednesday 10am to 3pm
• Friday 11.30 am to 2pm
We will provide some suggested walks and maps highlighting local green spaces for you to explore.
Please be aware that the walks will involve crossing some roads and we recommend wearing appropriate clothing for the weather.
The walk between Gatis and Wildside is just under a mile so technically the challenge could be completed in around an hour but we encourage you to take your time, slow down and enjoy the experience together.
